Yes. CLCD can be accessed from modern mobile and tablet browsers. Some screens contain extensive title information or advanced search controls, so the layout may adjust on smaller displays.

Institutional subscriptions can support IP-based access where configured. Individual features such as saved searches, personal reading lists, and other MyCLCD functions require a named user account so CLCD can associate saved work with the correct user.

Discovery provides an approachable, topic-driven way to browse books. Advanced Search lets users combine more than 50 filters and title characteristics. Power Search supports more complex Boolean and multi-field searching for experienced researchers and collection professionals.

Age and grade guidance depends on the information available for a title. Applying age, review, award, reading-program, or other specialized filters can reduce the result set because not every title contains every type of supporting data.

Search logic may require multiple terms to match. If a search is too restrictive, broaden it by using fewer terms, choosing an “Any of the words” option where available, or removing one or more filters.

First check whether filters from an earlier search are still active. Reset the search and try the title, author, or ISBN again. For ISBN searching, using the ISBN without punctuation can also help.

Yes. Multiple ISBNs can be entered together for matching against CLCD records. This is useful for checking title lists, acquisitions, or classroom/library collections.

Result filters let you narrow an existing result set without rebuilding the search. Depending on the product and search, filters may include format, age, review information, subjects, awards, publication data, language, local holdings, and other criteria.

Cover art is not available for every edition, particularly for some older, specialized, or out-of-print books. CLCD continues to add and update jacket images when suitable cover data becomes available.

Highlighting can show words or terms related to your search. Linked subjects, authors, awards, or other data elements can be used to move directly into related CLCD content and additional title discovery.

MyCLCD is the personalized area of the platform. Depending on permissions, users can maintain reading lists, saved searches, and search history. Administrators can also manage institutional users and settings.

Personal features must be associated with an individual account. IP authentication can provide institutional access without identifying the individual user, so you must log in with your named account to access personal saved work.

Yes. Institutional administrators can create and manage named user accounts within their subscription so individuals can use personalized features.

Sign in with an administrator account and use the user-management area within MyCLCD. Administrators can create users, update access, and manage institutional permissions.

Administrative usage tools provide information that can help an institution understand use of its CLCD subscription and identify opportunities for training or broader resource awareness. Available reporting can vary by account configuration.

Certain account-level identifiers and authentication fields are restricted to protect subscription integrity and prevent accidental changes. Contact the Help Desk when those fields need to be updated.

A Reading List is a saved group of titles that can be used for courses, classrooms, readers’ advisory, displays, collection projects, research, or personal work. CLCD also supports collaborative list workflows where appropriate.

Reading Lists can be revisited and used as working title sets. Depending on the product and account, users can share, print, export, or otherwise work with saved titles.

Search History lets users return to recent searches rather than rebuilding them from scratch. It is especially useful while refining a research question or collection query.

A Reading List saves specific titles. A Saved Search saves the search criteria, so running it again can return updated results as CLCD content changes.

CLCD continuously improves title records, topic structures, and related data. A saved search may refer to a topic or parameter that has since been renamed or changed, and title records may be merged or updated. The notice alerts users that older saved work may no longer map exactly to the current data structure.

Local Collection Management lets an institution identify which titles in CLCD are part of its own collection. This allows users to combine CLCD’s enriched title information with a view of local holdings.

Yes. When Local Collection Management is configured, users can focus discovery and search results on titles held by the institution or broaden their search to the full CLCD database.

Yes. CLCD supports OPAC/local catalog linking so users can move from enriched CLCD title information to the institution’s catalog record or availability information.

Institutions using Local Collection Management can provide MARC-based collection data through the supported CLCD upload process. Automated file transfer can be configured for ongoing updates. Contact the Help Desk for setup instructions.
